Hard Wearing Lawns

I require a good quality Hard wearing lawn for my kids to play on, at the same time it needs to look smart and not grow too fast. Can you help?

  • Advances in research carried out by the Grass Breeders in recent years have helped produce finer leaved Perennial Ryegrasses as demanded by the Amenity industry.
  • These advances are seen in football/rugby pitches, Golf courses, Racecourses and other sports.
  • This type of turf quality Perennial Ryegrasses are now available to the gardener and appear in the majority of our Ryegrass Mixtures (including Childs Play, Hardwearing Quality Lawn, Renovator).
  • They are finer leaved and slower growing than commercial Perennials and will produce a lush green lawn given the correct management.
  • This lawn will grow slightly quicker compared to a lawn containing only Fescues and Bentgrass.
  • The area should be prepared in exactly the same way as a normal lawn, if you require help please refer to the text on Establishing New Lawns.
