Which Spreader is better for my purpose?

Drop Spreaders:

  • Place seeds or fertiliser directly below the spreader hopper. Application is therefore very precise.
  • Better suited to smaller areas as the hoppers tend to be smaller and the active spreading area is smaller.
  • Very useful for irregular areas and ideal to avoid contaminating ponds, borders or patios, etc.
  • Easier to calibrate accurately.

Broadcast Spreaders:

  • Action is gravity dropping onto a spinning disc.
  • Suitable for covering large areas. Hoppers tend to be larger allowing greater coverage between refills.
  • Spread width is wider, allowing quicker coverage.
  • Larger wheels travel better over uneven ground.
