Which Spreader is better for my purpose?
Drop Spreaders:
- Place seeds or fertiliser directly below the spreader hopper. Application is therefore very precise.
- Better suited to smaller areas as the hoppers tend to be smaller and the active spreading area is smaller.
- Very useful for irregular areas and ideal to avoid contaminating ponds, borders or patios, etc.
- Easier to calibrate accurately.
Broadcast Spreaders:
- Action is gravity dropping onto a spinning disc.
- Suitable for covering large areas. Hoppers tend to be larger allowing greater coverage between refills.
- Spread width is wider, allowing quicker coverage.
- Larger wheels travel better over uneven ground.
