BS Low Maintenance Grass Seed

BS Low Maintenance (previously know as Grow Slow) contains slower growing grasses for less mowing requirement.

 

  • Tolerant of dry, infertile conditions
  • Can be mown to 20mm or twice per year to approximately 100mm
  • Suitable for areas in sun or shade. Can be mixed with wildflower seed
  • Contains: 25% chewings fescue, 52% strong creeping red fescue, 10% smooth-stalked meadow grass, 10% hard fescue and 3% crested dogstail
  • Sow at 35-50grams per sq/m - 20kg covers 400-575sq/m

BS Low Maintenance Solar Park Mixture

A mixture of slower growing, drought tolerant grasses combined with small leaf white clover. Provides a low maintenance and low input solution.

  • Slower growing grasses for lower maintenance inputs.
  • White clover fixes nitrogen from the air to provide nutrients for the grasses.
  • Mixture contains 40% slender creeping red fescue, 25% chewings fescue, 20% hard fescue, 10% smooth stalked meadow grass, 5% small leaf white clover.
  • Sowing rate: 150kg per ha / 60kg per acre. Pack size: 20kg.

BS ELS1 / CSS1 Buffer Strip & Beetle Bank

Managed as low intensity grassland and can be used to create new habitats. Cocksfoot is a clump forming grass creating areas for birds and mammals to nest.

 

  • Suitable for Entry Level Stewardship (ELS): EE1 EE2 EE3 EE7 EE8 EE9 EF1 EF7 EJ9

Managed as low intensity grassland. Contains fine-leaved grasses allowing wild flowers to establish creating a habitat for insects and other small mammals.

BS ELS3 / CSS3 Floristically Enhanced Buffer Strip

Managed as low intensity grassland, similar to ELS2, but includes several wild flowers as advised by Natural England. Cut August/Sept and March/April.

BS ELS / CSS Wildflower Meadow and Field Margin

Long term, lower priced mixture designed for introducing wildflowers, legumes and grasses into larger areas to enhance the environment. (Formerly BSWF10)

 

  • Provides a rich habitat for invertebrates, birds and small mammals
  • Can be sown on its own or in conjunction with our other wildflower mixtures
