Why no grass seed? Summer isn't the ideal time for sowing grass seed due to the dry and heat. Preference is to overseed in spring, autumn or winter. Sowing is absolutely possible if you can keep the area well watered. Choose from our range of high quality grass seed.

For best results, seed and granular fertiliser should be applied with a spreader, and liquid fertiliser applied with a specialist sprayer.
1. Apply the granular fertiliser over the whole area. Always wear gloves and we recommend using a spreader for consistent coverage. Brush off hard surfaces immediately to avoid discolouration (sweep away with a dry brush) and avoid plants (wash away the granules).
2. After a few days, dilute the Liquid Seaweed as per the instructions and apply over the whole area. For best results, apply to damp soil, or when rainfall is imminent.
3. After 4-6 weeks, dilute the Boost Liquid Lawn Fertiliser as per the instructions and apply over the whole area. For best results, apply when the soil is moist but rainfall is not imminent.
3. After a further 4-6 weeks for a quick green up, dilute our Rapid Green Liquid Iron as per the instructions and apply over the whole area. For best results, apply when the soil is moist but rainfall is not imminent.
Application rates, safety information, and specific instructions vary between products, so always refer to the product label for the correct guidance.
Preparation
Mowing (recommended)
Cut your lawn down to a height of around 2cm (preferred height), removing cuttings. Do this 3 days prior to adding fertliser to avoid stress and scorching.
Weeding (recommended)
By hand or by using a selective weedkiller, remove weeds from the lawn.
Granular Fertiliser Spreaders and Liquid Fertiliser Sprayers (recommended)
We recommend applying our granular fertiliser with a spreader to ensure even application. Avoid duplicate, heavy coverage over areas as this can scorch the grass. Using a liquid fertiliser sprayer will also aid even application. Ensure gloves are used when handling fertiliser.
Aftercare and Maintenance
Mowing
Wait 24-48 hours to mow after applying granular fertiliser to allow nutrients to settle. For liquid fertiliser, wait at least 2-4 hours, or until the grass is completely dry.
Lawn Usage
Ensure any people and pets stay off the area until the granules have dissolved/been fully watered in For liquid fertiliser, keep off the area for 24 hours after applying.
Grass Seeds

The best time to care for your lawn in the summer months is early in the morning or late at night to avoid direct sunlight. If you are applying fertiliser, avoid applying during periods of high temperatures or drought as this can burn your grass.
