Use this mixture for Flower-rich Margins and Plots (AB8) to provide:

  • Abundant supply of pollen and nectar-rich flowers through summer
  • Pollinating and beneficial insects including bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies and hoverflies using these flowers
  • Farmland birds such as yellowhammer foraging within or on the edges of the margins and plots

Use this mixture for Legume and Herb-Rich Swards (GS4):

Use this mixture for Nectar Flower Mix (AB1):

  • Food source and habitat for pollinating insects such as bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies and hoverflies using the flowers
  • A Natural England preferred mixture - they advise to avoid short-term mixes that do not include Knapweed or Mallow, as they will not supply pollinators with long-term food sources for years 4 and 5 of the agreement.
