Puschkinia: Advice On How To Grow Them (And Why!)
A fantastic variety for growing in borders, rock gardens and naturalised areas, their compact size helps with their versatile planting. Their narrow grass-like leaves appear alongside flowers that will usually bloom from March to April.
Commonly referred to as the Striped Squill, they will naturalise over time through bulb offsets and are generally not affected by common garden pests, growing to around 15-20cm in height.

They are native to the Middle East and Central Asia and are popular in gardens for their charming, delicate appearance.
How to grow
Fairly drought tolerant once established, the blooms would still benefit from regular watering in early spring during the growth period to ensure they flower to their potential.
Plant around 10cm deep and space them apart 5-10cm. They will do best in well-drained soils and prefer a sunnier spot in gardens, borders or pots.
