What is the best type of grass species for golf fairways?
For golf fairways, it is recommended to use ryegrass and rescue grass species due to their hard-wearing and fast growing properties. This fairway grass seed mixture contains different species of ryegrass and fescue to create excellent wear tolerance and appearance.
What is the best time to sow grass seed on a golf course?
The best time to sow grass seed on a golf course is early autumn and midspring when the soil temperature is slightly warmer and the weather is mild.
How long does fairway grass seed take to establish?
Fairway grass seed typically takes six to eight weeks to fully establish. However, we recommend waiting at least eight to twelve weeks before use. In optimum conditions, the grass seed will germinate within seven to ten days. However, it will depend on maintenance, weather conditions and seed type and brand.
