Stitchwort, Greater (Stellaria holostea) Seeds

A perennial wildflower which is thought to be one of our prettiest woodland and hedgerow spring flowers. White flowers up to 3cm on slender stalks. Petals notched and leaves narrow and stiff. These flowers have an explosive seed scattering mechanism in which they can be heard popping once the seed capsules ripen thus dispensing their seeds.
