Granular fertilisers are the bedrock of healthy, thriving lawns and grassland. They are best applied at regular intervals throughout the year, around every 6-8 weeks.
The granules dissolve into the soil and are absorbed efficiently through the roots over a period of 6-8 weeks. Granular fertiliser is also the most effective way to provide all essential nutrients before sowing grass seed, for killing moss, and 'greening-up'.
Granular fertilisers are best applied using a spreader, to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Granular lawn fertiliser comes in small particles, or granules, that are spread on a lawn and provide nutrients through the roots. If rainfall is not imminent, it is best to water after application to help the fertiliser be absorbed. They are one of the most common types of lawn fertiliser due to their ease of application and their effectiveness.
How to apply granular lawn fertiliser?
When using granular lawn fertiliser, check the product specifications for the rate of application - as over fertilising can damage your lawn. We recommend using a spreader to help achieve an even coverage across your lawn. After applying, water your lawn thoroughly to help the granules dissolve and release nutrients into the soil.
How long does it take for granular lawn fertiliser to work?
Depending on the type of granular lawn fertiliser you use will depend on how quickly it works. After it’s been fully absorbed into the soil, slow-release granular lawn fertiliser should begin to show result within a couple weeks, however fast-release liquid fertiliser will showcase results more quickly
